SHOW YOUR SUPPORT BY HOSTING A PINWHEEL GARDEN

This is a time for all parents, child peers, teachers, CASA’s, judges, legal professionals, social workers, corporate leaders, law enforcement, clergy & faith communities, coaches, day care providers, non-profits, and community members to collectively PAUSE AND CONSIDER the significant impact child abuse can have, and does have, in our communities.

OUR MISSION

CASA of Polk County, Inc. MISSION is to recruit, train, guide, and support volunteers appointed by Polk County judges to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the judicial dependency system.

In 1983, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed April to be the first National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Since then, many public agencies and organizations around the country have organized activities and created resources to raise public awareness.

CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH

In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America introduced the pinwheel as the national symbol for child abuse prevention through Pinwheels for Prevention®. The pinwheel signifies whimsy and childlike notions. In essence, it has come to serve as the physical embodiment, or reminder, of the great childhoods we want for all children.
