Our 6th Annual Golf "FORE" KIDS Tournament Fundraiser was THE BEST TO DATE!!

Location: Salem Golf Club (SGC)

It REALLY does take a village!!!

All in all, 100 players (25 teams), 27 sponsors, 17 volunteer, 1 CASA coordinator, 2 SGC coordinators, and at least 10 SGC staff!  WOW… that’s OVER 150 people that came together to make this tournament happen, to raise funds, to support children in Polk County who are wards of the court, residing in foster care due to neglect or abuse.

Regardless of the heat (96*), our 25 teams, volunteers & CASA staff had an absolute BLAST!  It was a pleasure to work with Alan Reese (SGC GM) & Denise Goyins (SGC Ops Manger) to make our tournament happen at this beautiful course. It was AMAZING from start to finish!  SAVE THE DATE for next years, 7th Annual Golf "FORE" Kids Tournament Fundraiser, scheduled to be held at Salem Golf Club on Saturday, June 24, 2023!

What is a mulligan in golf?

A mulligan enables a player to redo a shot from the spot of the previous stroke without penalty.

A Mulligan is allowed in friendly games due to a poor stroke on the previous stroke.

This practice in tournament fundraisers is a fun way to help raise funds for the organization as well as speeding up play by reducing the time used for searching for a lost ball.

PRESENTED by Parkside Self Defense

Presenting Sponsor

Parkside Self Defense is designed as a personal development system as well as a self-defense system. Our classes are filled with excitement yet focused on developing the inner qualities of a champion.

Learning builds a sense of accomplishment. With each new accomplishment the student’s self-confidence grows, and confidence is the first step in the empowerment of a person’s physical and mental abilities.

Once we begin to develop a student’s self-confidence, we are then able to instill the values of respect, courtesy, honesty, perseverance, and integrity that are the foundation of martial arts dating back thousands of years.

Furthermore, students will develop perseverance, which is a non-quitting spirit to overcome life’s obstacles. Instilling a non-quitting spirit helps a child overcome challenges, to succeed in the face of adversity — to be a goal setter, and a goal getter!
